Getting dressed for a party can sometimes be stressful. Many of us women fret weeks, even months before wondering what to buy and ultimately stressing about whether or not you’ll be overdressed, underdressed or dressed for the wrong occasion. But if you’re going to an event where Michelle Obama will be present, you can just forget it! Her formal wear is what everyone is and will be talking about for days to come and now that their presidency is coming to and end, she is not toning it down. In fact, Michelle is going the extreme opposite and we’re loving it and loving her even more!

This dazzling off the shoulder, custom Gucci gown she swooned in at the Kennedy Center awards on Sunday night was simply astonishing and exquisite. The festive elegance with which she wore it sums up her entire eight years in the White House. She graced us with high-end fashion and made us believe we too could pull off such a look because she wore it with a sense of real. She wore pieces from Target and again told us women, we too were just as strong, powerful and in charge and you didn’t need a $500 dress to say so.

Barack Obama, Michelle Obama

Every single outfit Michelle chose to wear and be seen in has spoken volumes about her confidence, her awareness of who she is and how she views her role in this country. Oh, and Barack was there too in a black tux. 🙂
