Austin Creative Reuse’s Summer Sundays community activation and mini-market happens every fourth Sunday of the month. This event promotes civic engagement and will feature reuse art vendors in the organization’s shaded patio to beat the summer heat.
Austin’s Mayor Pro Tem José “Chito” Vela will stop by to share opening remarks and visit with attendees.
Austin Creative Reuse started in 2009 when a group of like-minded individuals gathered to discuss creating a new, sustainable community organization. The group was a mix of artists, art enthusiasts, teachers, marketers and community experts.

The first center was a small, 1,600 square foot suite at the Linc Shopping Center and was initially 100% volunteer run.
In 2020, the group outgrew their original original space and moved to an 11,000 square foot building in the Windsor Park Neighborhood. The public is welcome to shop six days a week helping support paid staff that contributes over 50% of its labor hours.
