The Mom Who Can’t Cook Show: An Imperfect Show

It’s been several years in the making and I’m thrilled that it’s finally ready! The Mom Who Can’t Cook show is an original show about my struggle to figure out how to cook because I don’t know how! I never learned how when I was younger. I remember somewhere around 12 years old, I experienced a clumsy stage and broke several of my Mom’s China dishes, so I was given a safer job of putting ice in the glasses and setting the table. Ha!

Watch the trailer where my children tell all!

As I got older, cooking scared the hell outta me! Full course meals and the preparation that goes along with it, no way, I’m completely intimidated! I’d invite my family over for dinner and order in. I would toss the containers the food came in and transfer the food to my own serving dishes. I thought they didn’t catch on- they did! They knew my food would never taste that good.

Now that I’m a Mom of three, I’m trying to be a better cook but I’ve burned ALOT of food and thrown just as much into the trash. My children are so accustomed to hearing the smoke alarm blaring that it doesn’t scare them. They each jump into action, grabbing dish towels and waving the plumes of smoke away from the smoke alarm. It’s hilarious! Well, sort of.

The Mom Who Can’t Cook show follows my journey of trying to master dinnertime and do less drive through and eating out. I want to make more healthy home meals but I’m clueless about food, what pairs well together, or even how to even pronounce certain spices and seasonings. Yup, it’s bad! On each episode, I try my hand at a new recipe from online, Instagram, magazines, friends, family, and cookbooks. I’ll even invite guest home cooks and chefs on the show to teach me new recipes.

I’m excited about sharing this experience of how bad I am in the kitchen because I know I’m not the only clueless cook out there. The show is real + it’s raw- but hopefully not the food when I’m done.

I hope you’ll watch the show on YouTube.
