The Mom Who Can’t Cook Show

It’s been several years in the baking and I’m thrilled to finally have a trailer for my show! Cooking and making a full-course meal is a completely intimidating experience that gives me anxiety and makes me sweat, so I’ve shied away from it but I love watching cooking shows! I came to the point of frustration though with seeing only perfectly plated food and very few kitchen and food disasters on the Food Network and Cooking Channel.

The Mom Who Can’t Cook Show is a revolutionary cooking show about a real-life, relatable Mom of three who can’t cook. It’s a comical kitchen adventure of fails and sometimes fire as the host (me), who knows nothing about food, science or seasoning, tries to nail a recipe. On each episode, she stumbles through recipes for the first time pulled from either a magazine, cook book, the internet, or friends and family. Celebrity guest chefs and home cooks also stop by to teach the host how to make their favorite recipes. She may be a confident corporate executive who can work her fearless magic in the boardroom, but the kitchen is a place where she’s known to completely fall apart. Watch the trailer here.

Although she loves watching cooking shows and baking competitions, no matter how hard she tries, she can’t seem to mimic the perfectly plated masterpieces like the ones on TV or in glossy magazine photos. She’s also obsessed with conquering her fear and intimidation of food preparation and full-fledge multi-course dinner. “This idea came to me because I was really frustrated with all the perfectly plated cooking shows I was obsessed with on network and streaming TV. I thought, ’there’s got to be more people like me who don’t know what the hell they’re doing in the kitchen,” says Catenya. Her goal is to do less take-out and be more intentional about healthy eating, healthier living, and more home prepared meals for the sake of her three children. It’s also her goal to bring families back together again at the dinner table.
