The return of one of my favorite drama’s, Scandal, has inspired me to show you how to flip a suit the way Olivia would. There’s no doubt us Gladiators are in love with the drama, intensity and the suspense but without the fantastic wardrobe paired with the plot, the entire ensemble may as well be a fashion flop!
If you notice, the show’s wardrobe stylist, Lyn Paolo, loves to dress Olivia in classic black, creams and signature soft color combos. In honor of Olivia Pope, here’s a new Nothing2Wear, 2-Minute Outfit episode showing you, in 2 minutes, how to break up and repurpose a black coat suit by pairing the top and bottom with other striking pieces in your wardrobe. WATCH.
In this episode, the foundation is a black striped-patterned pencil skirt and tie-back coat suit.
Style Spin- I wore this tunic in the Spring. To turn this look into a Fall outfit– keep on the pencil skirt, ditch the coat, and pair a patterned tunic in a soft ivory hue. Pairing two patterns is chic and sophisticated.
Accessorize– Statement necklaces are essential. Betsy Pittard’s beaded bold golds elevate this look to a higher standard. Longer necklaces, paired with a tunic top, elongate your frame, creating an illusion that you’re taller.
Style Climax– Finish off with a statement ring, simple wristlets in a popping color and Target Fall booties, which I picked up for $10 last season! SCORE!
