Nothing2Wear: 4 Ways to Accessorize An LBD

One dress can do wonders for your wardrobe budget. A black dress can take on so many multiple personalities and styling options that you may consider wrapping it in a white jacket. Actually, that might not be a bad idea.

Our weather has been steadily wacky and it’s hard to know what to wear from one day to the next. The wonderful thing about this sleeveless sheath is no matter the weather, I can always find a way to make it work. Accessorizing is the key. Oh, and does black slenderize? YES! Absolutely!

Style Tip: The outdoor temperatures should never stop you from buying a sleeveless dress that’s on sale. You can always style it in the winter or spring to fit the season. Here’s how:

LOOK 1: On one of our warmer days, I styled this with a sunburst orange statement necklace and corresponding accessories. See my previous post, “Brightening Black for Spring.”

LOOK 2: When the temperature dropped in the same month, I shed the belt, swapped necklaces and added black tights and booties. You can also add a turtleneck underneath the dress for extra warmth. I used the dressing room for a backdrop& a shameless selfie.

LOOK 3: I added a leather peplum jacket for stepping outside. Wearing all black and a pop of color is incredibly sophisticated.

LOOK 4: When you need a color splash and a waist cinch: Pair pattern, color, a cardigan & a skinny belt. This Michael Kors cardigan was a fantastic find at TJ Maxx.

Add a leopard skinny belt around the cardigan to create a stunning visual silhouette.

A dress with pockets… I’m instantly smitten.

Turquoise is a versatile hue that works with almost any other color.

    Catenya,
This is Jayne (deBlanc) Landry from Opelousas. Just want you to know how much I enjoy reading and seeing you posts. Of course, you are so beautiful that everything looks great on you! Didn’t you do an article on “30 ways to wear a little black dress”? Great info.
I’ll be 61 on 9/26. My “uniform” is a pair of slim jeans, a Brooks Brothers shirt, comfortable flats, tons of bracelets, and red lipstick💋.
Any suggestions for slim inexpensive jeans with elastic waist? Hello to the family.

It’s been a long time!!! Thank you so much for following me on this journey!!! My recommendation for jeans that are always the perfect fit are Beija Flor. They have memory fabric and are slimming! They are awesome! Miss You!
