The Better Show: How To: ReStyle Your Wardrobe from Winter to Spring

Despite what the fashion magazines and runway designers tell you, buying a whole new wardrobe for the next season is completely unnecessary. There is a practical, frugal way to re-style+ re-wear your winter wardrobe in Spring and Summer. All it takes is creativity and easy tips for how to shop your closet. In this Nothing2Wear exclusive, my style tips made it all the way to New York where I was a featured guest on nationally syndicated, The Better Show. WATCH.

The day of the taping was one of the most exciting days of my life and certainly a major highlight of 2015 so far! By the end of the day, my face and jaws ached from smiling for nearly four hours straight. Not to mention, I ran into these two awesome guys while there; interior designer extraordinaire, Nate Berkus and celebrity chef, Rocco DeSpirito.

I chose to start with two foundational pieces- a gorgeous turquoise dress and a black jumpsuit.IMG_7250

Look 1: The dress: The winter look was styled with expresso brown boots, black tights and a cork Marsala handbag. Styling an accent color with any ensemble is chic.

Style Flip: Transitioning the same dress for Spring is simply painless. We shed the tights, boots and bag. We then swapped statement necklaces. Either necklace is interchangeable and can be worn in both winter and spring. I absolutely love the aqua and gold highlights in this necklace. It pairs perfectly with the dress. The finishing touch was styling sand colored peep toe slingbacks.

Look 2: Jumpsuits are fantastic on-trend pieces that can be worn in the winter and spring. They flatter almost any body shape and are incredible comfortable. The winter look called for layering. I styled a burgundy mock neck underneath, a cascading gold statement necklace, an expresso brown braided belt and finished with black ankle booties.

Style Flip: To transition the same jumpsuit into spring and summer, we shed the mock neck, the belt and necklace and styled a coral button down over the jumpsuit. We also shed the booties and styled simple black strappy heels. The jumpsuit has wonderful cutout detail both in front and back so it can be worn alone, especially in summer months.IMG_7378IMG_7281End-of-Days-Jumpsuit
